This should be championship week for most leagues. If your Super Bowl is next week, I suggest you smack your commissioner upside the head. Once again the question is, “Will Peyton play?” I say yes, the only way he comes out is if the Colts run away with the game. And if that happens, you are in fine shape.
It seems like just yesterday that we were debating draft strategy, but the end of another fantasy football season is almost upon us. Leagues with a head-to-head component are in their playoffs, and leagues decided by points have basically determined the contenders and pretenders by now.
So while it’s true that not as many owners have tough lineup decisions to make, the ones that do have more pressure than any. Don’t go into the crucial Week 15 games without some information to help you field your best team.
Where to get that information? Well there’s probably a million sites out there, but since you’re already here, just read past the jump to hear what the local media is saying in different NFL cities about who’s in and who’s out today.
Keep watching the injury reports going forward this week for the status of Larry Fitzgerald. He has said he will play, but I don’t know how effective he will be, and that is reflected in the rankings. I also wouldn’t be worried about starting Reggie Wayne this week. He should see significant playing time, after this week, well that will be a roll of the dice.
At this point what is there to say. The top running backs will keep putting up numbers. If you have Ray Rice or Chris Johnson have fun in the playoffs.
Let the playoffs begin. The million dollar question is will Peyton play? The Colts have everything wrapped up, but with three weeks to go will the star QB be riding the bench to rest? I say no. Play Peyton this week, maybe not next week, but this week he is a huge play.
So this has nothing to do with wide receivers, but it’s been bugging me. I’m in a league that give the top two playoff seeds a bye week. One of the owners is talking about “resting” his player. Seriously, if any one out there is thinking of doing the same, don’t! Remember this is fantasy football, “resting” players does no good. Anyway most leagues still take overall points, so even if you don’t have a head to head match up, play your best line up! Okay, that lecture is over, on to the wide receiver rankings.
When Jerome Harrison is one of the top running backs, you know it was a down week. Chris Johnson did do his part, even though the Titans lost. On to the rankings.
Week 14. The start of the fantasy playoffs in most leagues, and after last week, good luck. Bruce Gradkowski was ranked 32 and ended up being the number two fantasy quarterback. Although Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees put up good numbers, so things weren’t totally out of whack.
This is it! And when I say that, I’m not talking about the Michael Jackson conert rehearsal flick, but the fact that for many fantasy football leagues, the regular season ends with this week’s games.
Whether you are fighting for playoff positioning or simply hoping to be your league’s spoiler, this would be the worst possible time not to have good information to set your lineup.
That’s where we come in. We’ve got some helpful tidbits straight from the local media in different NFL cities. So if this info turns out to be bad, you can blame them, not us!
Onward…
